I should be packing for us to go camping and cooking dinner. Instead I am going to share a hilarious blog with you. Warning for the faint of heart - it is not PC. The first video is not so funny, but just keep looking. The transportation fail is one of my all-time favorites.

Love at first bite

Have you ever had caramel pound cake? Me either until today. I have a new love in my life. It is a bakery here in Greensboro called Maxie B's. Last week I had a slice of key lime cake there and today I had the caramel. I am a cake lover and I have never tasted cake like this! I had never even heard of a layered pound cake. Now I am obsessed. I even had a dream about eating cake at this bakery last night.

Caramel cake is a southern tradition that I am now determined to learn to bake. I think I have an inkling why these layered pound cakes are so good, one of the recipes I was looking at had 2 cups of butter in it! For a 2 layer cake. Every time I drive past Maxie B's now I think of all the cake flavors there I haven't tried, it is a little bonkers how in love I am with their cake.

My Boys

Luke was reading to Leo instead of napping. He knows the story because we read Curious George at out house daily. Noah just cracked me up. He is an adrenalin junkie.

High

I got a runner's high today.  It felt amazing! This has only happened to me a handful of other times. I enjoy running, but I don't usually get high from it. Too bad! It was a beautiful spring morning, bright blue sky with sunshine and puffy clouds. I was running on a cool trail with good friends. Funny thing, at the beginning of our run I slipped on a wet bridge and fell. This was no delicate tripping over a root and catching myself with my hands. My feet were muddy and went out from under me and I went down hard, right on the edge of the bridge. It hurt badly, but I kept running and ended up blissfully happy. Is there a lesson here?

Spring has sprung

We went geocaching on Saturday afternoon as a family. As we got out and started hiking in warm, afternoon sunshine, I realized the peepers were out! It doesn't really look or feel like spring yet, but I decided to agree with the frogs and decide that spring has come. No matter what weather comes our way, in my mind spring is here and boy am I ready!

Sophie made these a few days ago. Totally funny! Maybe she has a future as a romance writer? It freaks me out though when my kids do/say things and I have no clue where their ideas came from. I asked her where she got these ideas and she just said she made them up. We haven't watched any Disney movies lately and I never in my life have talked about "true love" with her.

Flattery will get you everywhere

At bedtime last night Luke snuggled up to me. He put his face close to mine like he was going to give me a kiss. Instead he sniffed me and then declared,"You smell not disgusting!" Great. Glad to know.
