Thanks Jen. That was such a good reminder -- that we shouldn't judge...and we often don't know what lies beneath.
Troy told me a story last night about a new family in our ward. They have been members for 3 years. After that first year their girls decided to go to girls camp. The oldest has a lip piercing -- but it didn't matter to him and he found her worthy to go.
When she got to camp the Stake YW Pres told her she wasn't welcome with her piercing and her mom had to come and get her.

They never went back to that church again.
Thankfully, the have found full acceptance here.
What a reminder to love and understand. Sadly, I think that it is usually my second reaction.
